Depending on the experience and background of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Dietitian I or Dietitian II level.DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, the Registered Dietitian (RD)I or II will function as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team at the UCSD Eating Disorder Program. The RD will be supervised by the clinic director and/or program managers in order to ensure adherence to clinic philosophy. Job duties will include: conducting individual and group nutritional interventions for clinic patients; providing a meal plan and caloric recommendations for each patient; checking in with patients and caregivers regarding problems or concerns following meal plan; consulting with patients, physicians, and other senior dietitians; chart on medical records and facilitating a weekly nutrition education group. The RD will provide training to and work as a work lead for diet techs in clinical support and eating disorder specific training to subordinate staff. Additionally, the incumbent will eat and supervise meals with patients to observe eating patterns, monitor meal environment, and assist patients in completing meals. The RD will attend all treatment team meetings, and assist with providing consultation and training to the eating disorder staff in the program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Registered Dietitian (RD).
Must possess the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics.
Completed an American Dietetic Association internship; and be a registered Dietitian.
Must have two (2) year experience working in an Eating Disorder Clinic.
Proven knowledge about eating disorder etiology and treatment.
Demonstrated experience in conducting a thorough and comprehensive nutrition evaluation for Eating Disorders patients entering Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Program.
