The Dietitian assesses patient nutritional status and needs, develops and implements nutritional care plans, and evaluates and reports those results appropriately. She/he provides clinical dietitian services and/or nutrition education services to inpatients.


Educational Requirements

  • MUST be a Registered Dietician from an accredited program.

Special Training/Skills

  • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Persuasive, negotiation skills—to educate and motivate clients / patients to adapt eating habits to diet prescription.

Physical Abilities

  • Incumbent must be able to move to various units throughout the facility.
  • For the efficient delivery of services to customers, this job requires sufficient English-language skills to understand and be understood when interacting with customers, visitors, patients, coworkers, management, and other members of the healthcare team including physicians.

Physical Demand Level: Light

In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

Lift / Carry 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently

As required, must be able to -

Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders

Push and Pull

Perform fine motor functions

Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
