Sodexo Schools Division is seeking dynamic, self-motivated, solutions/results driven Food Services General Manager 3 to serve as consultant to the Martinez Unified School District in Martinez,CA - 30 miles north of Oakland, CA. Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager will have consulting responsibility for 7 schools within the district of over 4,000 students enrolled. The GM will act as a consultant to the chief business officer and superintendent and be able to analyze data, find trends, offer solutions based on findings, and provide expert advice professionally. In addition, candidate will have direct interaction with a union staff and administration gathering data, making recommendations, providing oversite and training for Sodexo systems, and offering strategic solutions to the school district’s needs.

Are you the experienced food service manager we’re seeking?
The successful candidate will have:
Experience managing in a high volume school setting – familiar with National School Lunch Programs, Provision 2 and USDA regulations.
A Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in food management leadership,
Strong financial acumen and computer literacy (intermediate knowledge in Word, Excel and Power Point)
Excellent leadership, communication skills, including effective listening and persuasion skills – interacting regularly with client, PTA, Board Members, Parents, etc.
Solid research and project management background

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate’s degree with academic major in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years of relevant school nutrition programs experience
